Below is a list of what is going on in Johnny Appleseed Country during the month of March. If you are aware of an event that is going on in our region that is not listed here, email it to us, we will be glad to put it on for all our visitors to see!
Check out our Classes page for this month as well to see all multiple day classes for various activities such as art, photography, exercise, camps for kids during vacation weeks, etc.

29 Thursday 7pm. Concert: Russian Duo – Traditional Music and Classical Elegance at the Museum of Russian Icons, 203 Union St., Clinton. Oleg Kruglyakov, a balalaika virtuoso from Siberia, and Terry Boyarsky i, an American concert pianist with Russian heritage, have joined forces to present vibrant, magical concerts. Their program combines the diverse flavors of traditional Russian music, lilting voices, chamber music classics and unique transcriptions of favorites from around the world. $15 for non-members. 31 Saturday, 9am. Hike Granite Street to North Monoosnoc Overlook. This hike will start at the end of Granite Street to the trail head parking lot then over to the North Monoosnoc Overlook to see views of Pierce Pond and sections of Leominster, Lunenburg, Fitchburg, and beyond. COST: Free (unless noted) - Hikers gather informally and hike at your own risk. Please let us know if you are planning on joining us on each hike so we can notify you of any changes in the schedule or cancelations by calling Judith Sumner at the Recreation Department, 978-534-7529 weekdays. Hikes are canceled if it rains. We recommend that hikers wear proper hiking gear, bring water, take a snack, and wear sunscreen and insect repellant.
31 Saturday 9am-10am. Easter Egg Hunt. 33 Shattuck Street Littleton. Egg Hunt starts promptly at 9:00 AM. Breakfast will be from 9:15 - 10:00 am. Hop on down for an egg hunt a delicious pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny! $5 Resident Adult/ $8 Non-Resident Adult $3 Resident Child/ $6 Non-Resident ($20 family maximum)
31 Saturday, 10–11 am. Easter Egg Hunt at Barrett Park, 40 Barrett Parkway, Leominster, for children ages 2- 6.
31 Saturday 10 AM-12 PM. Spring Table Garden. Member $65, Nonmember $70. Instructor: Betsy Williams. Plant a colorful spring garden to grow indoors while you are waiting for the outdoors to bloom. Fill an attractive basket with flowering plants: cyclamen, tulips, primroses, daffodils, violas or pansies accented with lacy ferns, trailing ivies and green moss. Your portable garden will look equally charming on a table or windowsill. When summer arrives, plant the bulbs in the garden and transplant the fern, violas, primroses and ivy to a damp shady spot to enjoy all summer. Please bring floral scissors and an apron to class. 31 Saturday 11am-2pm. PRIDE's Building Blocks. A city-wide public art & urban revitalization project. Over 1000 artists, youth, and community members will transform a 160-foot long chain-link fence on Main Street into a work of collaborative art. The workshops will be held at Rollstone Studios, 633 Main Street and the Boulder Art Gallery, 960 Main Street. This workshop program is FREE to the public.

31 Saturday, 7 pm. Sagapool at Fitchburg State University, 160 Pearl St., Fitchburg. How to capture and define the Sagapool sound. Nu-Jazz. Jam Band. Acoustic. Joyful and cinematographic music; an idiosyncratic sound that wraps gypsy swing, jazz and klezmer in with touches of ska, Latin and folk rhythms. This is music at an intersection of exuberant creativity and blazing virtuosity composed by each of the musicians on stage. Sagapool won Best Instrumental album at the 2008 Canadian Folk Music Award.
