Local Farmers Markets

The bounty of Johnny Appleseed Country is nowhere more evident than at the picturesque farmers markets that dot the countryside and town commons from Spring into late Fall. For anyone interested in “going green,” this is a tasty way to start. You’ll have a chance to meet local growers who travel only a short distance to offer you their freshest pickings. Ask them what their secrets are for getting that country flavor so lacking in supermarket produce. And enjoy the festive outdoor atmosphere as neighbors chat, the sun shines, and all is well with the world.

Crisp, shiny apples bursting with flavor. Succulent, fresh-picked corn. The juiciest of peaches. Fresh-out-of-the-oven baked goods. Flowers practically dripping with morning dew. And more!

You’ll see it’s not just about the finest in farm-grown fruits, veggies and flowers. Colorful displays await of honey and herbs, dairy products and jams and jellies, maple products, and farmstead cheeses. Some markets will offer fine local crafts, handmade by neighbors following in the footsteps of New England craft traditions, including woodcrafts and jewelry.

Below is a listing of farmers markets in Johnny Appleseed Country, otherwise known as North Central Massachusetts. Please note that information is subject to change by the market managers, and the markets may close due to rain. Where possible, we have provided you with a link to the market’s website.
