1 Sunday, noon – 6 pm. Leukemia Ride/Family Walk & BBQ at the Eagles Lodge, 456 Litchfield St., Leominster. Sponsored by Andrew’s Helpful Hands & Extreme Riders, the motorcycle ride leaves Framingham at 9:30 and arrives in Leominster at noon. Family walk is a 5K on Eagles grounds. All-you-can-eat chicken, hamburger, hotdog barbecue. Lots of kids entertainment, jugglers, animals, face painting and a bone marrow drive. Call Lee Swenson, 978-375-3704.
1 Sunday. Into the Woods at Fruitlands Museum, 102 Prospect Hill Road, Harvard. These festive family days will mix entertainment, crafts, and storytelling with learning about trees and the many creatures and people who count on them. 1 Sunday, 1 pm. Garlic Festival at Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church, 118 Theresa St., Fitchburg. Follow your nose to this popular festival, with 15 booths selling home-made Italian foods. Tempt your tastebuds with pastry, beer, wine, and gelato, and try your luck at raffles. Call 978-342-1290.
5 Thursday, 5 – 9 pm. First Thursday Block Party on Main Street, Fitchburg. With a theme of “Sports,” the block party welcomes visitors to downtown. One in a monthly series sponsored by the mayor’s office. Call Ellen DiGeronimo at 978-345-9602 for details.

6-8 Friday & Saturday, 8 pm, Sunday, 2 pm. Shakespeare’s Macbeth at Barre Players Theater, 64 Common St., Barre. Among the most famous of Shakespeare’s plays , it is the shortest of his tragedies. It is often seen as the archetypal tale of the dangers of the lust for power and the betrayal of friends. Ticket prices: general $14, seniors 65 $12, students $10, children $7. 6-8 Friday & Saturday, 8 pm, Sunday, 2 pm. The Dresser at the Stratton Playhouse, 60 Wallace Ave., Fitchburg. This West End/Broadway hit seriocomedy is about an aging Shakespearean actor and the personal assistant who struggles to keep his charge’s life together. An engrossing backstage glimpse at some eccentric and memorable characters. Tickets, $15; call 978-345-6066 for reservations. Repeats on 14 and 15.
7 Saturday, 8 am – 1 pm. Yard Sale at the Gardner Museum, 28 Pearl St., Gardner. An annual event featuring treasures from antiques to jewelry, the yard sale is held inside the museum, rain or shine. Call 978-632-3277.
8 Sunday, 2 pm. Concert at Coggshall Park, entrance off Electric Avenue, Fitchburg. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a concert on the shores of Mirror Lake.
8 Sunday, 4 pm. Historical Piano Concert: Simon Tedeschi, piano, with Jacob A. Cooper, baritone, at Ashburnham Community Church, Main Street (Route 12), Ashburnham. Performance on a European piano made during the composers’ lifetimes, selected from the Frederick Collection of Historical Grand Pianos. $10 adults; children and students free. 10 Tuesday, at 7:00 pm. Juhannus. Come celebrate this special Finnish holiday at the Farmers’ Camp on Leominster Street, Westminster. 12 Thursday, 6 – 8 pm. An Evening with Mike Richard at the Gardner Museum, 28 Pearl St., Gardner. Since 1978, Mike Richard has been chronicling the stories of the people of Gardner and the events that have shaped the community. The 30-year body of work he has produced will forever be part of Gardner history. Mike will share anecdotes and stories about his work and the people of the city he loves. Admission $3. 14 Saturday, 5 pm. Starburst 2008 at Doyle Field, Leominster. Starburst features the All City Youth Band, Montachusett Chorale, Bagpipe & Drum Band, entertainment for children. The Starburst Band, a 40-piece concert band, plays showtunes, patriotic and other favorites. Bring a lawn chair and picnic basket, and enjoy music and a huge fireworks display. Free admission. 15 Sunday, 9 am – 2 pm. Annual Father’s Day Antique and Classic Auto Show at the Wallace Civic Center, 1000 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, sponsored by the Mid-State Antique Auto Club. More than 300 antique, classic and special interest automobiles will be on display for your viewing pleasure. 20 & 21 Friday & Saturday, 8 pm. Ragtime, the musical, at Theatre at the Mount, 444 Green St., Gardner. Ragtime paints a powerful portrait of the melting pot of America at the turn of the 20th century. Weaving the delights of vaudeville, baseball and nickelodeon with the disturbances of labor rallies and racial revolt, this unforgettable musical traces the threads of three families — WASP, African-American, and Jewish immigrant — intertwined in one of the greatest musicals of our time. 28 Saturday, 2 pm. Summer Stroll in downtown Leominster. Celebrate Leominster with a stroll back in time —to an era of sock hops, poodle skirts and the birth of the plastic pink flamingo.
