Recent Memory: The Chair City Oral History Project

A display of hand-crafted books from the ongoing Chair City Oral History Project (telling stories of people who worked at Nichols & Stone, the last large furniture factory to close in Gardner in 2008) and examples of the vintage printing tools and hand-binding techniques used. A panel discussion after the opening reception will explore what it means to be the "Chair City" after most furniture factories have closed.
