1. The International – Bolton
The International is said to be a golfer’s paradise, featuring two award-winning 18-hole golf courses. The first course, The Pines, which is one of the longest courses in the world, is home to the signature “Tiger Tee’s” topping out at 8,325 yards, rated one of the most difficult courses in America. The second course, The Oaks, combines existing topography and now accompanied by “waste bunkers” and “naturalized areas”, delivers a unique and profound experience, The course is nestled in the rural orchard community of Bolton, Massachusetts and features views of the Nashua River Valley.
2. Shaker Hills – Harvard
The 2012 renovations to this course, truly set it apart with its classic New England layout. One of the renovations included changes to the 18th hole, now making it 562 yard dogleg right par 5 finishing, creating a natural theatre at the clubhouse. Lastly, the new top deck adorned with a center fireplace, allows splendid seating to the course, including views of the 1st, 9th, 10th and 18th holes.
3. Sterling National Golf Course – 33 Albright Rd, Sterling, MA 01564
This course includes 6,667 yards of both challenge and beauty. Sterling National Country Club is an Audubon International Certified Cooperative Sanctuary, one of only ten courses in the state to earn this honor. The 238 acres of nature preserve and wetlands, features wildflowers, active plantings and colorful landscaping design. The courses layout also includes five sets of tees on each hole, providing challenges for every player.
4. Gardner Municipal Golf Course – 152 Eaton St, Gardner, MA 01440
Dating its roots back to 1936, this 18 hole facility has wonderful upkeep and great playing conditions. In addition, four sets of tees await golfers of all playing abilities. Beginners can shorten the course to a playable 4,898 yards or you can challenge yourself and step back to the tips. After your day of golf then grab a drink or a bite to eat at Zoe’s 19th Hole on their second-story deck that overlooks the finishing holes.

5. Woods of Westminster – 90 Bean Porridge Hill Rd, Westminster, MA 01473
Said to be one of the most scenic courses in the area, Woods of Westminster is a must for every golfer. Woods of Westminster is literally cut out of the wooded hills of Westminster. In a sense it resembles a ski resort that has replaced the snow with rolling fairways and lavish greens. In addition to the eye-catching course, lunch is served during the week till 12 p.m. tee off. 6. Oak Hill Country Club – 840 Oak Hill Rd, Fitchburg, MA 01420
This private, member owned club, was established in 1921. Oak Hill features a beautifully manicured 18 hole golf course, and if that isn’t enough membership also includes dining facilities, function rooms, tennis and expansive swimming facilities. 7. Red Tail Golf Course – 15 Bulge Rd, Devens, MA

9. Townsend Ridge Country Club – 40 Scales Ln, Townsend, MA 01469
This beautiful course is nothing shy of exquisite. Featuring 6,231 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is a 70.4 and it has a slope rating of 126 on Rye grass. 10. Ellinwood Country Club – 1928 Pleasant St, Athol, MA 01331
This country club opened in 1929, the original course featured nine holes that were later designed into an 18-hole course due to its popularity within the town and the people of Athol.
